Current wind projects
wpd is involved in projects in various stages in several states including Iowa, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Montana, Texas, California and the Pacific Northwest. Our team has direct experience in regional transmission organizations: Midwest ISO, Southwest Power Pool, CAISO, ERCOT, WECC, BPA and PJM. Most of our projects to date have been started Greenfield by our team. In addition, we look forward to considering investment in promising projects at any development stage in any area of the United States.
USA Projects
Benton County, Washington, 750 MW
Greenfield project by wpd and Scout Clean Energy involving thousands of acres of windy, dry-land agricultural property. In the vicinity of the growing population centers of Tri-Cities, Washington, this project is slated to interconnect to the Bonneville Power Administration transmission system, bringing investment and economic growth to the local community.
Gage County, Nebraska, 500 MW
The project was initiated as Greenfield and includes over 60 participating, enthusiastic landowners who look forward to additional, large income source from use of their agricultural land. The project will make a substantial contribution to the local economy in the form of additional property tax base, landowner income, full-time jobs, and the multiplier effect of every dollar flowing into the local economy.
Greene County, Iowa, 120 MW
The project was initiated Greenfield by our team working with enthusiastic local landowners and county officials. The project has been sold to a large Iowa utility with the prospect of including it in their future wind energy build-out.
Jefferson County, Nebraska, 200 MW
The project was initiated as Greenfield and includes over 80 participating landowners eager to advance a fuel-free, emissions-free, commercial power facility on their land. With a supportive community this project seeks to add to Nebraska?s growing wind energy sector.
Klamath County, Oregon, 230 MW
The project is located on a ridge in the vicinity of other major infrastructure including high-voltage transmission and natural gas facilities. We are currently measuring the wind resource on site and grid studies are underway. Such a facility can increase the green power component of the Western grid and bring a large and important economic impact in the local community.
Clatsop County, Oregon, 100 MW
Greenfield by our team and currently kicking off the wind measurement campaign and grid studies. The project brings potential to realize the economic benefits of commercial scale, clean, green energy.
Various Counties, New Mexico, 500 MW
Several areas of interest are in evaluation by our team in New Mexico. We are evaluating resource capacity, wildlife, and aviation resources in the quest to advance project that will ultimately benefit the regional grid and bring economic stimulus to the hosting communities. Projects are under study in WECC and SPP.
