Senior Project Developer
SCHEDULE
Full-time, typically between the hours of 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday. Flexibility to work weekends and/or evenings to fulfill job duties is expected.

WPD is focused on solar PV development, wind energy project development, BESS hybrid project development, design, site analysis & land acquisition, permitting, financing and power marketing in the US.

ABILITES
Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, permitting rules, technical and environmental reports, etc.
Ability to write status reports, development schedules and internal and stakeholder-oriented correspondence.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in order to perform the essential functions of the position in a satisfactory manner.
Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in non-standardized and fast-paced situations.
Solve complex problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and non-standardized situations
Conduct and document complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis for development plan deviations
Strong project management skills and stellar knowledge of the relevant project management tools
Excellent knowledge and understanding of permitting requirements of wind, solar and hybrid storage projects
Good understanding of all required aspects for a successful project development including understanding good siting, great interconnection options, comprehensive resource assessment and power marketing knowledge.
Strong business acumen and ability to grasp key levers on the bottom line of the business quickly
Analytical mindset with the ability to communicate key findings effectively to the leadership team, board members and investors
Ability to work without supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee will need to be comfortable working with a computer for extended periods. This position also requires extensive travel as required by the progress of the developments
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
Analyze the overall project situation and phase and based on that develop a project schedule.
Drive the project success by constantly following up the various stakeholders and service providers.
Track, monitor and report project progress to the superiors. Analyze deviations. Communicate impact on the project and actively create and suggest solutions to mitigate effects.

Identify and liase with all relevant project stakeholders to maintain relationships that are suitable to further project progress and ensure project success
Manage and administer all subcontractors and partner contractors to ensure success
Drive and inspire continuous improvement with the aim to lower cost of energy and hence securing project success as well as increasing potential development and operational margins
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline required, Masters degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in renewable energy projects development with project planning, execution, and history of improvements
Strong business acumen as this role is expected to report to Head of Development or the CEO of US operations on project results
Highly familiar with all aspects of a successful renewable energy project
Strong knowledge and appreciation of the technical, commercial, and political aspects driving the wind industry
Very strong interpersonal, management, and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Strong team building capability and leadership skills
Pro-active attitude
High level of self-motivation
Ability to think and work independently and mostly unsupervised
Relevant industry network
EQUIPMENT, MACHINES, TOOLS USED
Microsoft Office applications, (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and operation of office equipment (computers, tablets, cell phone, copier, etc.)
DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties can be performed in a climate-controlled office environment. with frequent visits to project sites where there may be exposure to the elements.
